Welcome All

Am aspiring published rhyming poetry author. Have wrote many typical/perfect rhyming poems. In this endeavor found not much of this type poetry exists; thus, this site was born. Have published, "The Rhyme It Out Project: Why Not Rhymes Part One & Part Two” in my endeavor to promote rhyming poetry. More about this endeavor under that page’s title and can view some poetry there; as well. Currently am working on "My Form Created-Rhyme It Out!", where I created my own form; which you can see more details under that page. Learn more about me under the “About Me” page. Those whose wish to contact me can do so via the contact form at bottom of site or in response to post and can follow via "Follow By Email" Link. My email is whynotrhymes@gmail.com. Am a rhyming poet that really likes writing rhyming poems and hopes this site encourages others to join me in this rhyming poetry endeavor. Rhyme On!

A Tervillazanelle Poem for Thought

Here a "My Form Created" Tervillazanelle Poem for Thought.

The Way It Was

To this difference we do now pause
In knowing our world under change
Never again to be the way it was

For when the Great Depression gave cause
Even then affected the stock exchange
To this difference we now pause

As the economy worldwide suffers because
To this virus normal commerce now strange
Never again to be the way it was

When this thing does eventually leave
Things that was can never be no more
To this we greatly need to believe

As back to the past we now look for
Hoping things soon return to normal
But to this it never be as before

Although hard, we know it be subnormal
As to this difference we now pause
And later, through change to this we shall
Never again to be the way it was
   ©Doris Elaine

Thoughts: I hear people saying: "Can't wait until this virus thing is over so things can get back to normal". I hate to burst everyone's bubble; but things will never be the way things used to be; nor, per say normal. Just as the Great Depression took decades to recover from and through that many things had to change in doings things different or better; so, is this worldwide pandemic going to change us and take awhile to recover from.  Hopefully, we will be better from this. Bottom line-after this does eventually pass, things will not and cannot be the way it was.

A Rhyming Poem for The Season

An Acrostic Poem Form for the Season

Happy Easter 🐰

Hippy hoppy Easter’s on its way
As eggs hidden that we find
Placement of them where they lay
Preferring that none be left behind
Your basket now filled this day

Easter dawns as spring display
And pastel colors then are shined
Shown is the floral bouquet
To which this season is twined
Everywhere the children now play
Remembering this day given divined

Easter is a day of celebration and although many are shut-in or shelter-in-place, there still can be many and creative ways to celebrate this season.

Wishing all a Happy Easter!

Quote Revised to Rhyme

"Writers sometimes may not have good math skills.
But, applying it in real life events, in their defense,
That's where their math aptitude greatly instills.
This math application is called Common Sense!"
         ©Doris Elaine

Thought: Same thought as before; just quoting as rhyme. Reiterating; most writers-Novelist, Short Story Writers, and Poets-among many writers-may not have good math skills; but, many writers have a great deal of Common Sense.

Quote and Thought

“Don’t have good math skills, but can take that application and apply it to real life events pretty good. I call that Common Sense. And, most writers do have plenty of that”

Thought: It’s true. Can’t add and subtract good at all. Most times have to use calculator to ensure accuracy. But, something like knowing the right choices to make in life to save money or making cost effective choices is simply Common Sense. Some novelist, some short story writers, and some poets are among many writers that don’t hold very good math skill, but have a great deal of Common Sense. Just saying!

Knowing Poetry Terms

Although believing rhyming in just about any form can almost be done, in doing so knowing or learning the poetry terms is important. Here a web article to help out in this endeavor.
